Simple Valentine Day Party Ideas

These Valentine day party ideas are here to help you plan a fun and enjoyable Valentine tea party with a group of friends or maybe plan a one on one tea party. But no matter the amount of people with whom you plan to share your tea party, these ideas should assist you in your party planning.

For a Valentine tea party, if you stick to red, pink and white tones you cannot go wrong. Depending on finances - and time - you can plan a very simple yet enjoyable party or a more elaborate one. Please remember, your guests care less about the decorations and the menu than to spend time with you. Tea parties are really about time spent with loved ones rather than anything else.

So if you are pressed for time - and for money - a simple white table cloth, a candle or two, soft music playing, a few delicious foods and a fragrant prepared tea blend icon is all you really need.

If you have any ideas of your own, please share them!

By the way, do you know why we even celebrate Valentine's Day - also called Saint Valentine's Day?

As you know, Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people around the world. Valentine's day is a day on which lovers express their love for each other by giving cards, flowers, or other token of their love.

What you may not know is that Valentine's Day was named after an early Christian martyr whose name was...you guessed it...Valentine! Another tidbit is that this holiday has been celebrated for a very long time! In fact, it was first established in 496 by Pope Gelasius I!

Saint Valentine - or Valentinus for those who know Latin - was martyred in ancient Rome and buried at the Via Flaminia.

Who was he and what was his crime?

Valentine was a Roman priest martyred during the reign of Emperor Claudius II. Valentine was arrested and imprisoned upon being caught marrying Christian couples and otherwise aiding Christians who were at the time being persecuted by Claudius. Helping Christians at this time was considered a crime and obviously a crime punishable by death.
