Enjoy Some Wonderful Recipes for Scones

Here are some delicious recipes for scones.

What are scones?

Scones are light and fluffy quick breads made in individual portions. They can be made plain or have other ingredients added such as nuts, fruits, chocolate chips, etc. Scones can also be made with wheat flour or other flours such as oat or cornmeal.

Scones originated in Great Britain - England - where they are quite popular, especially at tea time where they are served with either morning or afternoon tea.

Scones are easy to make and take little time. You can have a batch ready in 30 minutes or less. However, you must not over mix the batter or this will affect their lightness.

Scones are best eaten fresh and therefore should be eaten on the day you bake them. They are usually served with butter, or with clotted or whipped cream. You will also find some scone recipes recommending you serve them with jam or honey.
