Pumpkin Spice Tea Recipe

If you like pumpkin pie then you should really like this pumpkin spice tea recipe. In many ways, this tea recipe resembles a pumpkin latte - a drink made with coffee.

This pumpkin tea is quite rich and it is wonderful during the fall and winter season. Obviously, it is a great tea recipe for you to serve during the holiday season.

I made this tea with a black tea, if you really want to jazz it up, you can use a pumpkin chai latte.

What is chai?

Chai - the word rhymes with "pie" - is actually a word that means tea in some parts of the world. Most commonly, when you hear the word chai, it refers to a beverage from India made with:

Black tea

Milk or cream

A combination of various spices, most commonly:

Cardamom

Cinnamon

Ginger

Cloves

Spiced Pumpkin Tea: Ingredients

1/4 cup of pumpkin puree

2 cups of strong prepared black tea - or chai tea - hot

1 cup of milk, half and half or cream - hot

1/2 tsp. of cinnamon powder

1/4 tsp. of ground nutmeg

1/8 tsp. of ground cloves

1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract

Sugar to taste ~ I use about a 1/3 to 1/2 cup

Whipping cream - optional

Cinnamon powder for sprinkling - optional

Spiced Pumpkin Tea: Method

Making this pumpkin tea, is very easy. Put all your ingredients in a blender and turn on high. Leave the blender on until all the ingredients are well blended and the tea mixture looks frothy. Serve hot.

You can serve topped with whipping cream and sprinkled cinnamon.
