Free Knitted Pumpkin Tea Cozy Pattern





This free knitted pumpkin tea cozy pattern can be used in various ways:

    Knitted Pumpkin Tea Cozy Pattern: Materials


    • 25 grams of orange yarn

    • A little bit of green yarn

    • A pair of 6mm needles

    • Darning needle

    • Stitch holder

    • A crochet hook






    Knitted Pumpkin Tea Cozy Pattern: Directions

    Cast on 70 stitches - cast on means make.

    Row 1 - Knit 1, *purl 5 then knit 2*. Repeat * through * and finish by knitting 1.

    Row 2 - Purl 1, *purl 5 then knit 2*. Repeat * through * and finish by purling 1.

    Row 3 - Knit 1, *purl 5 then knit 2*. Repeat * through * and finish by knitting 1.

    Row 4 - Purl 1, *purl 5 then knit 2*. Repeat * through * and finish by purling 1.

    Row 5 - Knit 1, *purl 5 then knit 2*. Repeat * through * and finish by knitting 1.

    Row 6 - Purl 1, *purl 5 then knit 2*. Repeat * through * and finish by purling 1.

    Row 7 - Knit 1, *purl 5 then knit 2*. Repeat * through * and finish by knitting 1.

    Row 8 - Purl 1, *purl 5 then knit 2*. Repeat * through * and finish by purling 1.

    Row 9 - Follow the same pattern as row 1 until the 33rd stitch and then cast off 2 more stitches finish with the same pattern as row 1.

    Row 10 - Follow the same pattern as row 2 until the 32nd stitch then cast off 2 stitches. At this point, put remaining 33 stitches onto a stitch holder.

    Row 11 - Cast off 1 stitch at the beginning of the row, work in pattern until end of row.

    Row 12 - Work in pattern and finish by decreasing 1 stitch at the end of the row.

    Row 13 - Decrease by one stitch and then work in pattern. Finish by purling 1.

    Row 14 - Work in pattern and finish by decreasing 1 stitch at the end of the row. Break off the yarn and put all stitches onto a stitch holder.

    Row 15 - Take all the stitches of the stitch holder from the opposite side of the tea cozy and them put back on your needle. Cast off 1 stitch at the beginning of the row, work in pattern - same as row 1 until end of row.

    Row 16 - Work in pattern and finish by decreasing 1 stitch at the end of the row.

    Row 17 - Work in pattern. Finish by purling 1.

    Row 18 - Work in pattern across all stitches. Cast on 10 new stitches and then join with other side and work straight across all stitches in pattern.

    Row 19 - Work in pattern.

    Row 20 - Work in pattern.

    Row 21 - Knit 1, *purl 5 and knit 2 together*, repeat * to * to the end.

    Row 22 - Work in pattern across all stitches.

    Row 23 - *Knit 1, purl 2 together, Purl 1, purl 2 together*, repeat * to * to the end.

    Row 24 - Work in pattern across all stitches.

    Row 25 - *Knit 1, purl 1, use green and purl 1,* repeat * to * to the end.

    Row 26 - *Purl 1, use green and knit 3, use orange purl 1*, repeat * to * to the end. Tie off the orange yarn.

    Row 27 - Use green and work in pattern.

    Row 28 - *Purl 1, knit 2 together, knit 1*, repeat * to * to the end.

    Row 29 - Work in pattern.

    Row 30 - *Purl 1, knit 2 together*, repeat * to * to the end.

    Row 31 - Knit 1, purl 1 to the end.

    Row 32 - Knit 2 together and repeat to the end.

    Row 33 - Purl all the way across.

    Row 34 - Knit all the way across.

    Row 35 - Purl 2 together and repeat to the end.

    Row 36 - Cast off all stitches






    Knitted Pumpkin Tea Cozy Pattern: Finishing

    In order to finish your tea cozy, begin by sewing up to the handle and then above the handle to the lid.

    Crochet around the spout gap and the handle to finish off as follows:

    Row 1 - crocheted into 63 stitches.

    Row 2 - Crochet all around, decreasing every 7th stitch.

    Row 3 - Crochet all around, decreasing every 6th stitch.

    Row 4 - Crochet all around, decreasing every 5th stitch.

    Row 5 - Crochet all around, decreasing every 4th stitch.
