Italian Pizza Scones: MethodIn a medium size bowl, place the flour, cornmeal and the baking powder. Add the pieces of butter. I like to use my fingers for this step but a pastry blender will work as well. Between your fingers rub the flour mixture and the butter together until it resembles coarse sand. ![]() Add the spices and the salt and combine well. Add the beaten eggs and the buttermilk. Mix well with a fork until the mixture forms a sticky dough. Add the sundried tomato pieces, the cheese - and the pepperoni or sausage if you choose. Mix together. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead the dough until it holds together. Divide the dough in half and roll each half into a circle about 1 inch thick. ![]() Cut the circle into eight wedges. Repeat this process with the second half of the dough. ![]() Place each wedge unto a greased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. ![]() Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
