Recipe for Egg Yolk Cookies





Have extra egg yolks? Perfect! This recipe for egg yolk cookies will help you use extra egg yolks left over from other recipes.

It is so annoying to make a recipe to have a bunch of egg yolks - or in some instances egg whites - left over and finding egg yolk recipes is not always easy. This egg yolk cookie recipe uses 6 egg yolks.

These cookies come out moist and very light, not to mention a beautiful light yellow color.

Egg Yolk Cookies





Egg Yolk Cookie Recipe: Ingredients


  • 1 cup of butter - softened

  • 1 1/4 cups of sugar

  • 6 egg yolks

  • 2 1/2 cups of flour

  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder

  • 1 cup of white chocolate chips

  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

  • Optional: 1/2 cup of chopped macadamia nuts






Egg Yolk Cookie Recipe: Method

In a large bowl, cream the butter and the sugar. Add the yolks and cream again until fluffy.

Add the flour, baking powder and vanilla and combine until well mixed. Add the chocolate chips and the nuts - if using.

Roll into balls 1 inch in diameter and place on a greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes - I do 10 minutes.

Once cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar if you choose.

Makes about 3 dozen.
