Decorated Easter Eggs Leaf Print Easter Eggs
These decorated Easter eggs are so easy and fun to do!
In order to make these leaf print Easter eggs, you will need to buy some dye or - even more fun -
make your own!
It would be best to
set up a table just for this activity as the dyes will stain! A garage - porch or backyard - would be an ideal place to set up for this
fun - but messy - Easter egg craft. You might also want to have no more than 2 children per bowl to avoid conflicts. They can rotate later as you
allow them to.
Another thing we discovered when we made ours and which you will appreciate. You must be very cautious with the leaves you pick - by the
way delicate flower petals
will work as well. The leaves you pick must be very tender and delicate. We had the best success with
herb leaves such as parsley, mint, cilantro,
etc. The harder tree leaves did not mold well to the egg shell and allowed the dye to seep in and therefore we ended with plain eggs rather than
leaf print Easter eggs!

Leaf Print Easter Eggs
- Some leaves or flower petals
- Toilet paper - or paper towel - rolls
Cut a piece of stocking and make a knot at the end. Take an egg and place some
leaves - or flower petals - on top. Secure them with the pantyhose. Make another knot.
Place the egg into the bowl with the dye. The longer the egg remains in the dye, the darker the color. Remove the egg from the bowl and place
it on a toilet paper "stand" (see below). Wait 5 minutes before cutting one of the knots and removing the pantyhose piece from the egg. The egg will still be
wet...you'll end up with colored fingers.
