Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe

This chocolate peanut butter cookie recipe is a sure winner if you just love the marriage of these two flavors: chocolate and peanut butter.

In my house, chocolate and peanut butter always seem to find each other...so I made these chocolate chip peanut butter cookies for my husband and kiddos who are PB/chocolate addicts! It was a hit from the first: creamy and soft peanut butter cookies full of chocolate chips. Most of these chocolate peanut butter cookies got eaten right out of the oven with a side glass of milk...some were dunked...yum!

Try this recipe you will not be disappointed and then come back and leave us a review.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies: Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of butter - softened

  • 1/2 cup of shortening

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 cup of brown sugar - packed

  • 1 cup of peanut butter - I use natural PB

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • 1 package - 12 oz - of semi sweet chocolate chips

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies: Method

In a large bowl, cream the white and brown sugar, the peanut butter, butter, and shortening. Add the eggs and cream some more.

Add the vanilla, flour, salt and baking soda. Mix until well combined. Add the chocolate chips and combine well.

Roll the dough into balls - about 1 1/4 inches. Place them unto a greased cookie sheet a couple inches apart...they WILL spread!

Bake at 350 degrees F. for 11 to 13 minutes.

Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen cookies.
